New Delhi, India: The International News Media Association (INMA) hosted a four-day South Asia Media Festival, August 7-10 in New Delhi to celebrate best practices in the print and digital ecosystems of the region.
Building on INMA’s world-class study tour initiatives worldwide, the association launched its first-ever study tour for South Asian members. The festival featured a strategy and best practices conference for management teams, a study tour of Delhi media leaders and digital start-ups and topical seminars.
The two-day study tour from Aug 7-8 included exploration of New Delhi media market with an eye for disruption, innovation and growth opportunities. It highlighted a visit to the new media offices of Bhaskar, Times Internet, Jagran, and the newsrooms of Inshorts, Quint, and India Today.
Speaking about the study tour Deepit Purkayastha, Co-founder and CSO of Inshorts said, “ Using innovative forms of technology to deliver world class content to our readers has constantly been our focus at Inshorts. As leaders in the category of short form content, we feel extremely honoured to have been a part of INMA’s media study tour. The study tour was attended by CXOs, brand leaders and intellectuals from the media industry, organized by INMA. The Co-founder and CSO of Inshorts, Deepit Purkayastha shared his valuable thoughts with the eminent executives on the topic “Technology and Media: How to strike a balance between old and new?”
The media festival also witnessed 12th Annual INMA South Asia News Media Conference was held from August 9-10 under the theme of “Print Is The New Medium,” which celebrates the strength of the print media.
The festival brought together South Asia’s top publishers and specifically executives charged with growing advertising, circulation, brand and revenue from news media companies in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Pakistan. It has excellent opportunities to network and share the “INMA conversation” among this exclusive fraternity of the world’s most innovative newspaper executives.
