India: The 3rd annual Bertelsmann Badminton Championship was recently held in New Delhi. Bertelsmann Badminton Championship is a unique event that brings together companies of Bertelsmann in India including Fremantle Media India, YoBoHo, Penguin Random House India, DK India, Arvato India and Bertelsmann India Investments (BII) as well as investee companies of BII.
Over 45 participants including founders and top management from 12 companies Pepperfry, Licious, Treebo Hotels and LendingKart, among others were a part of this year’s edition. Licious team, led by Founder Vivek Gupta, won the championship this year and LendingKart team finished a Runners-up.
To celebrate the spirit of the investment community – foresightedness, risk-taking and perseverance- the Bertelsmann Badminton Championship invites 2-3 team per company (2 people per team) to compete for the badminton championship at the Commonwealth Games venue, the DDA stadium, Siri Fort. After battling it out against India’s top corporates, the event was followed by a humbling award ceremony and fun-filled evening of dinner, drinks and entertainment.
The winners of the Bertelsmann Badminton Championship 2017 edition were Sandeep Sharma and Sumit Jain from Kalaari Capital. Jatin Bery and Maneesh Upadhyaya, of Info Edge, occupied the runner-up spot.
