Our life would have been unimaginable if we don’t have the access to a few things as we have right now. Our life is so much easy that being lazy is considered cool lately. Thanks to all the great people to whom the origination of our luxuries belongs. Let’s rewind the time and have a look at how the commencement of our luxuries took place.
ELECTRICITY: Just think how our life would be without electricity. What a scary thought though! Today almost everything runs on electricity; basic electricity bulb to the chargeable vehicle. Most of the people give credit to Benjamin Franklin for the discovery of electricity; in the mid-1700s, when he became interested in electricity, up until that time, scientists had mainly known about and experimented with static electricity. Benjamin Franklin took things to the next level. Franklin came up with the idea that electricity had positive and negative elements and that electricity flowed between these elements.
CELL PHONES: Without any doubt, cell phones nowadays have become an extremely important part of our lives. Do you know who invented the first ever cell phone? On April 3, 1973, Motorola earned the honor of becoming first ever company to produce a handheld mobile phone. The man behind this invention was Martin Cooper. He initially developed cellular phone named Motorola Dynatac in 1973. With 5 inches width and 9 inches length, this 2.5 pounds weighing phone carried around 30 circuit boards in it. The first ever mobile phone had the recharge time of around 10 hours, talk time of 35 minutes and gave comfortable talking experience to the users.
INTERNET: At this moment, you would not have been able to read this article if you wouldn’t have the internet access. There are so many things which could not have been done without internet; it’s really hard to imagine our lives without internet. Well, unlike technologies such as cell phones or the bulb, internet has no single inventor. As a government weapon in the Cold War, internet got its start in the United States more than 50 years ago. For so many years, scientists and researchers used it to communicate and share data with one another.
BULB: Okay, we know that there is a strong relation between electricity and bulbs but that doesn’t resist us in considering bulb one of the most important inventions of all time. Just imagine at night if there is a dark all around or you go shopping in a mall and there is no electricity at all. Horrible no! Let us give you a tour of the year when the invention of Bulb took place. In 1878, Thomas Edison began serious research into developing a practical incandescent lamp and on October 14, 1878, Edison filed his first patent application for “Improvement in the Electric Lights”. However, he continued to improve his original style and tested several types of material for metal filaments and by Nov 4, 1879, Edison filed another U.S. patent for an electric lamp.
Thanks to these inventions, we are living life to the fullest.
